Analisis parameter start point squeeze machine die casting untuk mengurangi cacat shringkage pada produk housing block compressor

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tentang cara mengurangi cacat shrinkage pada produk housing block compressor. Cacat shringkage adalah cacat yang berupa rongga – rongga pada material yang dapat disebabkan oleh tidak sempurnanya atau kegagalan pada proses solidifikasi material yang akibatnya dapat menjadikan compressor bocor. Pada analisis ini peneliti menggunakan squeeze machine yang bertujuan untuk membantu memadatkan material diarea tertentu yang biasanya menjadi area critical, pada squeeze machine peneliti fokus pada parameter start point dimana parameter tersebut menentukan kapan waktu maju stroke squeeze machine sesuai dengan settingan parameter yang sudah di tentukan. Analisis dimulai dengan membuat parameter awal squeeze yaitu start point yang divariasikan menjadi 3 variasi setting parameter start point dan 1 tanpa menggunakan squeeze, untuk 3 variasi setting parameter tersebut yaitu variasi 1 dengan menetapkan parameter start point 1 second, variasi 2 dengan menetapkan parameter start point 0,5 second, dan variasi 3 dengan menetapkan parameter start point 0,3 second. Selanjutnya dilakukan pembuatan sample untuk masing-masing variasi tersebut untuk mengetahui efek dari parameter terhadap shrinkage yang terjadi. Kemudian dilakukan proses pengujian secara visual, dan radiographic. Dari hasil pengujian 3 variasi tersebut didapatkan parameter start point 0,5 second yang terbaik dikarenakan terdapat shringkage paling sedikit dibandingkan dengan 2 variasi parameter start point yang lain.
