Abstract

In the operation of a centrifugal pump, the impeller of the pump is supported by a shaft bearing, the role of the shaft bearing is very important in its performance so that friction and unavoidable vibration can occur which can cause damage. Therefore there is a need for a maintenance review using a vibration or vibration method that is useful to prevent a sudden stop at the pump.  The frequency analysis method is used to compare the vibration signal characteristics of the damaged shaft bearing with the repaired shaft bearing, where this method is based on FFT (Fast Fourier Transform). The result shows that bearings with damaged or abnormal conditions with the speed of 2900 RPM have harmonic characteristics/spectrum shapes with damage that occurs at the impulse frequency are BPFI, BSF, and FTF with high overall enveloping values of 29,62 gE while bearings with normal/new condition with a speed of 2900 RPM has a random characteristics/spectrum shapes and has an overall enveloping value of 4,579 gE.
