Perancangan sebuah turbin dibutuhkan untuk mengkonversi energi yang terdapat pada sumber tenaga air menjadi energi kinetik yang digunakan untuk memutar poros generator sehingga menghasilkan energi listrik. Pada penelitian ini akan dirancang sebuah turbin propeller yang sesuai dengan karakteristik dari Sungai Maliringan sehingga daya yang dihasilkan oleh turbin propeller tersebut memiliki efisiensi yang maksimum. Daya yang dihasilkan oleh turbin dipengaruhi oleh karakteristik dari sumber tenaga air, yaitu debit air dan ketinggian jatuh air (head). Penelitian ini akan membahas tentang hasil simulasi dengan menggunakan metode Computational Dynamics Fluid (CFD) yang dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk memperoleh daya dan kecepatan putar yang dihasilkan oleh turbin. Turbin propeller ini dirancang berdasarkan karakteristik dari Sungai Maliringan dengan menggunakan software CAD SolidWork dan simulasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan software COMSOL MultiphysicsDownloads
