RELATIONSHIP OF PSYCHOLOGICAL EMPOWERMENT AS MEDIATORS TO EMOSIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND WORK ENGAGEMENT OF WORKERS THE TRANSITION OF THE ENDEMY COVID-19 IN JAKARTA

Abstract


Employees who work during the Covid-19 period can adapt following health protocols according to the health program. The performance process must still run in accordance with company procedures. This research phenomenon affects job evaluation during the pandemic which affects the way of thinking of workers in Jakarta. This study aims to examine work engagement, emotional intelligence, and psychological empowerment. The study used quantitative methods in the mediation regression process and sampling techniques, the respondents were 658 workers in Jakarta during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) developed by Schaufeli & Bakker, Wong and Law's Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLEIS) developed by Wong and Law and the Psychological Empowerment Questionnaire (PEQ) developed by Spreitzer. The analysis of the mediation regression process in this study used the PROCESS V3.5 Procedure for SPSS by Andrew F. Hayes. The results showed that Psychological Empowerment acts as a mediator that relates between work engagement and emotional intelligence. This study hopes to provide a reference for workers and companies regarding the values of work engagement, emotional intelligence, and psychological empowerment that can provide career change during the Covid-19 era.
