Abstract

 

Aims: This paper reports the synthesis of evidence on examining the origins and definition of the concept of outcome of care, its application in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease, patients and exploring its utility as a means of understanding all outcomes for caring in older adult with COPD.

Background: Outcomes of care is a concept that is become relevant to understanding how COPD patients live with their illness, stay with long term conditions. Outcome of caring of older adult with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Patients must be able to respond after they received treatment or care from all care givers, their spouse.

Design: Literature review – Integrative review.

Data sources: CINAHL, PubMed, Google Scholar and EBSCO were searched between 1990s – 2022s.

Review methods: The principles of rapid evidence assessment were followed.

Results: The researcher identified 425 relevant papers; 30 papers reported the presence of the concept of outcome of care of chronic lungs disease patients and COPD patients but only 17 papers reported the presence of the concept of outcome of care of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease patients and have been included in the synthesis. The term outcome of care in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, the caregiving is most often understood using in model of holistic healthcare in chronic illness.
