PARENTS' SELF EFFICACY AND THEIR EFFECT ON THE PERCEPTION OF RESILIENCE AND STUDENTS' COMPETENCE WHEN LEARNING ONLINE IN COVID PANDEMIC AT KAPUK STATE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 05 PAGI

Abstract


This study aims to determine self-efficacy and parents' perceptions of academic abilities that have been considered through the perception of children's resilience, when children study online, during the covid-19 pandemic at SDN Kapuk 05 Pagi. Children who feel bored while studying, have problems with internet access, use cell phones that alternate with their parents, children who have not been able to learn online independently. So that not a few children become lazy to learn because they are left behind in lessons. Children's resilience when learning online, tends to be problematic, in line with the problems of parents' perceptions. Subject matter that is too high level, for his age; demands to be able to understand and transfer school lessons to their children. The increasing task of parents in accompanying their children in addition to the demands of their routine work. In fact, there are some parents who let their children not go to class, due to the lack of children participating in online learning, where the cellphone used depends on the presence of parents at home. This study involved a total of 238 parents. Participants were obtained by total sampling technique. Perceived resilience was measured using The Parental Rating Scale and self-efficacy using The General Self Efficacy (Ralf Schwarzer) based on Bandura's social cognitive theory. With a simple regression analysis technique. The results of the study revealed that parental self-efficacy has a significant effect on perceptions of academic resilience and student competence when studying online during the covid pandemic at Kapuk State Elementary School 05 Pagi. With the effective contribution of parental self-efficacy of 23.7% to the perception of resilience and academic competence of children. Parents' self-efficacy in this study was in the high category of 73.9%. Meanwhile, the parents' perception of the resilience and academic competence of children is 50.8% in the high category. The conclusion is that there is a significant influence on parents' self-efficacy and their effect on the perception of resilience and student's competence when learning online in the covid pandemic at Kapuk State Elementary School 05 Pagi.
