PLC yang merupakan singkatan dari (Programmable Logic Control) adalah suatu sistem pengontrol yang berbasis mikroprosesor dan memanfaatkan memori yang mampu untuk diprogram menyimpan berbagai instruksi dan untuk mengimplementasikan fungsi logika seperti, pengurutan, pencacah, pemwaktuan dan aritmatika guna mengontrol mesin-mesin dan proses – proses. Banyak industri kecil yang masih menggunakan teknologi manual dalam proses pengemasan produk. Namun dalam bidang industri sekarang ini diperlukan suatu peralatan yang dapat bekerja secara otomatis untuk meningkatkan produktivitas, mempersingkat waktu, dan menurunkan biaya produksi. Salah satu cara untuk membantu proses pengemasan produk yaitu dengan menggunakan sistem pendorong kotak otomatis berbasis PLC. Input yang digunakan adalah sensor infrared yang mendeteksi adanya benda. Dan output yang digunakan adalah Supply Power yang bertujuan untuk memberi suatu tegangan serta arus listrik kepada komponen – komponen.Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan desain R&D. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui nilai optimum dari timer dan jarak sensor terhadap kotak. Manfaat penelitian ini adalah memberikan ide, saran, dan alternative mengenai alat pendorong kotak menggunakan sensor infrared berbasis PLC pada proses pembelajaran (pendidikan) dan bagi dunia industry. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data diambil dari observasi dan strudi literature penelitian – penelitian sebelumnya.Tugas akhir ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan alat pendorong kotak menggunakan sensor infrared berbasis PLC. Dari pengujian jarak sensor terhadap box dengan timer menggunakan 5 sampel pengujian mendapatkan hasil nilai optimum berada pada jarak 9 cm dengan timer 10 ms.Downloads
