Abstract


This study analyzes the meaning of social message criticism in the content of somasi Mamat Alkatiri Episode."We are going to prison because of this video, i think" on Deddy Corbuzier's Youtube channel. Departing from the purpose of humor as a medium for conveying social expression and criticism, stand-up comedy often presents humor that is lifted from social phenomena. This research was conducted to see how stand-up comedy is used as a medium for expressing opinions. This study analyzes the meaning of social message criticism and attempt to dismantle the ideology of hegemony in social reality contained in Mamat Alkatiri stand up comedy. The concept of ideology Jorge Larrain, ideology is positively perceived as a world view that state the values of certain social groups to defend and promote group interests. This research method is qualitative. The analysis used in this study is Roland Barthes' semiotics. The paradigm used in this study is the critical paradigm. The object of research used is the content of somasi Mamat Alkatiri eps. "We are going to prison because of this video, I think" on Deddy Corbuzier's YouTube channel. The scene that becomes the unit of analysis is the scene that contains social criticism. Unit of analysis is then interpreted in the form of three meanings that are characteristic of Roland Barthes, namely denotation, connotation, and myth. The researcher obtained findings that there was an ideology of hegemony that was trying to break down through Mamat Alkatiri's stand-up comedy on the somasi Mamat Alkatiri Episode content "We are going to prison because of this video, I think" on Deddy Corbuzier's YouTube channel. Based on research, it can be concluded that messages of social criticism that appear in stand-up comedy material are a form of rejection ideology of hegemony and mythologi of capitalism.
