KAJIAN RETROFIT BANGUNAN SEBAGAI UPAYA MEREDUKSI KONSUMSI ENERGI OPERASIONAL Studi Kasus : Campus Centre (CC) Barat ITB
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Production of electric energy in Indonesia is largely still using fossil fuels which are non-renewable energy. Thus increasing energy consumption will also contribute to impact on the depletion of fossil energy reserves. The building sector as one of the users of energy consumption, also participated responsible for operational energy consumption. Architects as one who coined an important role in determining the energy consumption in a building, this is because the design of the building will also influence energy consumption of that building. The operational energy consumption in buildings is the use of air conditioning and artificial lighting. It certainly can be avoided by making energy conservation by utilizing as much as possible the use of natural energy for room temperature and natural lighting.
The ratio of openings (window to wall ratio (WWR)) also affect the energy use intensity (EUI) in the building. In the case study of West Campus Centre ITB building, it can be seen that the facade that has WWR value close to 100% even though it can reduce energy consumption of artificial lighting, but can increase energy consumption for air conditioning. The effort required to retrofit to reduce both the energy consumption. Retrofitting efforts can be done through the addition of shading on the building, the reduction of WWR value, or replace glazing material with low U-Value glazing.

ABSTRAK
Produksi energi listrik di Indonesia sebagian besar masih menggunakan bahan bakar fosil yang merupakan energi tak terbarukan. Sehingga meningkatnya konsumsi energi akan turut pula berdampak pada menipisnya cadangan energi fosil. Sektor bangunan sebagai salah satu pemakai konsumsi energi, turut pula bertanggung jawab terhadap pemakaian energi operasionalnya. Arsitek sebagai salah satu yang memiiki peran penting dalam menentukan pemakaian energi pada suatu bangunan, hal ini dikarenakan desain suatu bangunan akan turut mempengaruhi konsumsi energinya. Konsumsi energi operasional terbesar di bangunan yaitu pada penggunaan penghawaan buatan dan pencahayaan buatan. Hal ini tentu dapat dihindari dengan melakukan konservasi energi melalui memanfaatkan semaksimal mungkin penggunaan energi alam untuk penghawaan dan pencahayaan alami.
Rasio bukaan cahaya (window to wall ratio(WWR)) turut berpengaruh terhadap intensitas penggunaan energi (EUI) di bangunan. Pada studi kasus bangunan Campus Centre Barat ITB, dapat diketahui bahwa fasade yang memiliki nilai WWR mendekati 100% meskipun dapat mengurangi konsumsi energi pencahayaan buatan, namun dapat meningkatkan konsumsi energi untuk penghawaan buatan. Untuk itu diperlukan upaya retrofit untuk mereduksi kedua konsumsi energi tersebut. Upaya retrofit dapat dilakukan melalui penambahan shading pada bangunan, pengurangan nilai rasio bukaan, atau mengganti material kaca dengan yang memiliki nilai U Value rendah.
