Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pendidikan, pelatihan pre-joining
terhadap motivasi dan dampaknya terhadap kinerja crew kapal. Populasi dalam penelitian
ini adalah pelaut (crew) PT. Jasindo Duta Segara yang berjumlah 706 orang. Sampel yang
dipergunakan adalah sebanyak 180 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan
convenience sampling. Metode analisis data menggunakan Structural Equation Model
(SEM). Hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa pendidikan berpengaruh positif terhadap
motivasi. Pelatihan berpengaruh positif terhadap motivasi. Pendidikan tidak berpengaruh
terhadap kinerja pelaut (crew). Pelatihan tidak berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pelaut (crew),
dan motivasi berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja pelaut (crew).
