Solar Power Plants are one of the renewable energy sources that are widely developed because they are environmentally friendly and sustainable. However, the performance of photovoltaic systems is highly influenced by environmental conditions, component degradation, and the effectiveness of system management and maintenance. Therefore, a reliable and real-time monitoring system is essential to maintain the efficiency and reliability of solar power plants. The development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology provides an effective solution thru the integration of sensors, microcontrollers, communication networks, and cloud-based platforms, enabling real-time remote monitoring. This article presents a literature review on an IoT-based solar power plant monitoring system by analyzing various studies published between 2018 and 2024. The discussion focuses on the monitored parameters, system architecture, devices used, and communication methods and monitoring platforms. The study results indicate that the most commonly monitored parameters include voltage, current, power, module temperature, and environmental parameters such as solar radiation intensity and humidity. Additionally, the layered architecture of IoT systems has proven capable of enhancing flexibility, data accessibility, and decision-making effectiveness. Nevertheless, challenges such as dependence on internet network quality, sensor accuracy, and data security remain major concerns in the future development of IoT-based solar power monitoring systems.Downloads
