Sebuah antena mikrostrip yang dikembangkan untuk mendukung komunikasi data pada perangkat komunikasi Wireless Lan 802.11 ac. Antena dirancang agar mampu beroperasi di range frekuensi wlan 802.11ac. Perancangan antena ini dibuat menggunakan teknik yaitu gabungan teknik transformer 1/4λg yang mampu membuat matching impedance yang optimal dan teknik multi tunning stub dengan pencatu berbentuk garpu juga teknik proximity coupled untuk menghasilkan peningkatan bandwith dan teknik slot sempit bentuk tri pada dua elemen patch yang di array untuk peningkatan karakteristik gain,dengan menggunakan dua lapisan substrat dari jenis FR4_Epoxy dengan ketebalan 1,6 mm dan konstanta dielektrik 4,4. Dimana lapisan substrat bagian atas untuk dua patch segi empat dan substrat bagian bawah untuk catu saluran transmisi.
Metode penelitian yakni dengan melakukan studi literature perbandingan jurnal terdahulu, kemudian desain perancangan antena mikrostrip awal dilakukan dengan perhitungan menggunakan persamaan-persamaan antena mikrostrip, lalu dilakukan simulasi secara komputasi desain antena mikrostrip dengan menggunakan software Hfss v.13. Dari hasil simulasi diperoleh parameter antara lain seperti: bandwidth dari return loss dibawah -10 dB,gain ≥ 6 dB, VSWR <2 yang beroperasi pada wlan 802.11ac.Antena mikrostrip yang dibuat memiliki kriteria yaitu VSWR ≤ 2 pada frekuensi kerja WLAN 802.11ac dengan lebar bandwith sebesar 1,002MHz,gain 7.2 dBi sehingga tercapai target untuk peningkatan bandwith di aplikasi Wlan 802.11ac dan bisa untuk pengaplikasiannya menggunakan di frekuensi center 5.3 GHz,untuk ukurannya relatif lebih kecil yaitu 10mm x 15mm.
