Menurunkan Reject Bocor Outer Tube Model 54P Non Gatting di Line Casting dengan Menggunakan Metode Eight Steps di Perusahaan Shock Absorber

Perusahaan Shock Absorber adalah pabrik Shock Absorber terbesar di Indonesia yang memproduksi shock absorber menggunakan mesin berkualitas tinggi yang memenuhi standart kualitas Original Equipment Manufacturer yang bergerak di bidang otomotif. Produk dari Perusahaan Shock Absorber salah satu nya adalah Outer tube. Outer tube adalah salah satu part pada shock absorber jenis front fork. Perusahaan Shock Absorber dituntut untuk mempertahankan kualitasnya dengan menekan jumlah reject proses produksinya. Salah satu reject tertinggi yang ada di line casting adalah bocor, dengan model tertinggi yaitu model 54P non Gatting yaitu sebanyak 10.710 pcs selama 3 bulan. Reject bocor model 54P non Gatting pada 3 bulan yaitu oktober 14,2%, November 14,9%, Desember 13,2%. Upaya menurunkan angka reject ini metode yang digunakan yaitu 8 steps 7 tools. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mencari penyebab reject bocor model 54P non gatting di line casting dan mengatasi bocor untuk model 54p non gatting. Setelah dilakukan analisis dan improvement perbaikan yang dilakukan adalah mengganti jenis coating pada dies, merubah ketebalan coating dies dan mengganti material spot cooling di area disc brake. Setelah dilakukan improvement tersebut, hasil reject bocor pada model 54p non gatting turun dari 14.2% menjadi 1,1%.
