ANALISIS PERBEDAAN TINGKAT LITERASI KEUANGAN ANTARA MAHASISWA FAKULTAS EKONOMI DAN MAHASISWA FAKULTAS NON-EKONOMI

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji tingkat literasi keuangan mahasiswa dan karakteristik demografis yang mempengaruhinya. Responden penelitian sejumlah 444 mahasiswa yang berasal dari Fakultas Ekonomi (FE) dan Non Fakultas Ekonomi (Non-FE) di sebuah universitas swasta (PTS) di Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner dengan indikator literasi keuangan meliputi: basic personal finance, manajemen uang, utang dan kredit, tabungan dan investasi serta manajemen resiko. Metode analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif, uji beda, regresi probit dan tobit. Hasil statistik deskriptif menunjukkan tingkat literasi keuangan mahasiswa relatif rendah, yakni sejumlah 37.79%. Terlebih, hasil studi menunjukkan adanya perbedaan literasi keuangan mahasiswa FE dan Non FE serta tahun angkatan. Literasi keuangan paling tinggi dimiliki oleh mahasiswa FE dengan tahun angkatan 2016. Hasil regresi probit dan tobit menunjukkan tahun angkatan dan disiplin ilmu berpengaruh terhadap literasi keuangan. Implikasi penting dari hasil penelitian adalah peran universitas melalui perumusan kurikulum pembelajaran dibutuhkan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman literasi keuangan mahasiswa, khususnya pada aspek tabungan dan investasi.
