Abstract
Existing literature on lean reveals that there are still few theoretical models that discuss the implementation of lean tools in the service sector, especially higher education services, their relationship to building academic culture, and their effect on research performance of university lecturers. The aim of this paper is to address this gap by proposing a theoretical model developed from the Cadden (2020) model and operationalized to build academic culture and its relationship to the research performance of university lecturers
